Capsule Filling Machines

Capsule filling machines are used by the pharmacists to open and fill it with powder or pellet and close the gelatin capsules. There are basically two types of capsule filling machines namely manual and automatic.

In Manual Capsule filling Machines the basic procedures are done manually like putting in the capsules and shaking so that they fall in the slots and removing excess capsules, filling and spreading powder etc.

There are certain semi automatic models. They generally have a three-step procedure. First the capsule goes to the orientation station where the capsules are rightly oriented and opens. Second it goes to the powder filling station where the opened capsules are filled with powder and the third is capsule closing step where the capsules are sealed back.

The automatic capsule filling machines are high precision machines that can fill in the exact dosage in the capsules. Once the required materials that is the capsules and the powder or pellets are put into the machine, the rest of the process takes place on its own. All the contact parts of the machine are made of corrosion resistant stainless steel. The size of the capsule and the number of capsules filled per hour can be adjusted. The machine has to have accurate operation for orientation, opening, filling, joining and ejecting of the capsules. The facility of ejecting the faulty capsule is generally included in all automatic machines.
