Flow Meter Filling Machines
Flow
meters are used for measuring the flow rate or quantity of a moving fluid or gas
generally used in the filling machinery. Most of the flow meters are based on
the velocity of the fluid flow through a cross section of pipe or change in Kinetic
energy with temperature or any such stimulant. There are basically three types
of flow meters.
Volumetric
meters are generally used for liquids without particles. They are further of two
types namely timed flow meters and piston rotary fillers. The timed flow volumetric
fillers can be used to fill products from water to oils and creams. It is a highly
accurate system. It is installed with flow control adjusters. It has a pump and
no drip fill heads. The body is generally of heavy-duty stainless steel. The rotary
piston fillers are more suitable for creams gels and pastes. This is more suitable
for food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry. In
the Electromagnetic Magnetic Flowmeter filling process the fluid is passed through
a magnetic field. The magnetic fields interaction with the fluid creates an electric
charge, which is used to measure the speed of the flow. The system is based on
the physical characteristics of the liquids and is a foolproof method for all
conductive fluids. In
Mass flow meters the liquid flow is measured in terms of mass flow. These are
generally based on thermal meters that sense the heated element from the liquid
flow path. It is a state of the art static system for all liquids and is the most
accurate. In a Coriolis mass flow meter fluid is passed through the vibrating
flow pipe causing a deflection of the flow tube proportional to the mall flow
rate of the liquid.
