Labeling Machines
They
are the machines used for labeling the product bottles and containers. They consist
of a printer and label orienter and applicator (cold glue or hot melt glue) or
pressure sensitive label. These may come separately or as an integrated system.
A
simple label dispenser is required for low volume productions where the label
placement position is not necessary to maintain. In
the semiautomatic machines, the operator places the product in place and starts
the operation. The label is applied and next label takes the position. Operator
removes the labeled product and places another. These may be print and apply models
where the printing and labeling takes place simultaneously. These models are more
useful when it is not possible to print and store labels. Automatic
labelers are required for high volume, high speed labeling needs. Present day
fully automatic labeling machines are installed with the label inspection machines
to check the orientation and printing of labels on the containers. Wet
glue labeling machine applies labels to a rigid container, using an adhesive which
is liquid at room temperature. Hot
melt glue labeling machine applies labels to a rigid container, using an adhesive
which is solid at room temperature. Pressure
sensitive labeling machine applies pre-glued labels supplied on a reel of release
paper or film. Print
and apply labeling machine is where the label is first printed and then applied
to a package. Weigh
price labeling machine is where the labeler is attached to the checkweigher. The
filled product is first weighed and then labeled accordingly.
