Pallet
Stretch Wrapper
Stretch wrapping has a simple principle that an undersized film is stretched upon
the pallet by stretching over it. Rotating
pallet stretch wrapper wraps the rotating pallet in thermoplastic film or net,
applied in a spiral pattern from a reel. The fixed pallet stretch wrapper wraps
a stationary pallet in a thermoplastic film in a spiral form, rotating the film
around the pallet. The two reel pallet stretch wrapper is same as fixed pallet
stretch wrapper but involves two reels of the film. Stretch
hood applicator wraps a pallet in thermoplastic film, which is supplied as a reel
of lay flat tubular film. A length of film is sealed at one end and then opened,
stretched and placed over the loading unit. An undersized film hood is stretched
to the exact outer circumference of the pallet. The grippers that stretch the
film secure it underneath the pallet. Hood
stretching combines the best of shrink and stretch wrapping techniques. It involves
low costs and optimum stability Core
Brake stretch wrapper technology is another low cost involving technique. The
pallet is kept on a turntable and the film attached. The table is then rotated
such that the film is pulled by the pallet weight. The brake on the machine creates
resistance and enables the film to stretch. The breaks can be mechanical, electronic,
pneumatic or hydraulic. This technique is used for stable pallets. These machines
can also work with pre stretch films that have higher load retention capacity In
Power Pre-Stretch stretch wrapping the pallet is placed on the turntable with
the film attached. The film reel passes through a series of rollers that pre stretches
the film before it is applied. Since the film is pre stretched not much force
is applied while actually wrapping. This makes the technology suitable for fragile
items. The film tends to regain its original tension after wrapping and this gives
a secure hold on the pallet. Fully
automatic machines could be rotary arm systems, rotary turntable systems and ring
wrapping systems. They all can have pre stretching systems. Rotary arm technology
is best suited for high volume and heavy pallets, as the pallet remains stationary
